Concern re: volume of ‘beep’ on patient call system in Talgarth as some do not hear it.
- This has been checked and we have increased the volume.
“Having bloods taken on the day you see the doctor would be an improvement than having to wait weeks for an appointment.”
- Unfortunately, this is not a service we can provide. We have an appointment service only, however we try to offer an appointments in a timely manner.
“Music in waiting room too loud for autistic child.”
- We have background music to aid confidentiality. However, we can facilitate waiting in the car (once booked in at reception desk) and phoning when clinician ready. If this is something you would like to arrange, please speak with reception on booking the appointment so any arrangements can be made.
There have been several comments about the radio playing in the waiting rooms.

There have been a couple of comments about the children’s area/toys in the waiting room in Hay Medical Centre.
- These were removed at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, and we have reviewed our policies and decided they will not be replaced due to infection control issues.
“Lights in reception area (Hay) too bright and cause headache, eye pain and nausea.”
- The area needs to be well lit, however we ensured we are using daylight lumens.
Concern about patient call system, audible in Talgarth and visual in Hay, infringement of privacy.
- We have reviewed this as a practice and the audible announcement has been turned off. The visual (name) call system will remain and we have used this facility for 20+ years.
Concern expressed about not being able to see the same GP for continuity in an acceptable timeframe.
- Unfortunately to always see the same GP there will be a wait, however, other GP’s are available if you wish to be seen sooner.
Concern about long wait.
- Our emergency clinic is a sit and wait service and it will depend on capacity on the day. The doctor may be dealing with an emergency which always take priority.
